How to Draw a Karate Belt
Draw a karate belt in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top loop.
Step 1: The top loop
Across the top half of your paper, draw a wide flat oval.
Tip Make it much wider than it is tall.
Step 2: Front of the belt
From each end of the oval, draw a short line down. Join them with a matching curve underneath.
Step 3: Back of the belt
Inside the oval, draw a rainbow curve from the left side over to the right side.
Tip The gap under it is the hole in the middle.
Step 4: The knot
In the middle of the front, draw a soft square knot, a little taller than the belt.
Step 5: Knot fold
Draw a curved line across the knot, from its top left corner to the middle of its right side.
Step 6: Left end
From behind the knot, draw a long strap hanging down to the left. Cut its end off straight.
Tip Keep it as wide as the belt.
Step 7: Right end
Draw a matching strap hanging down to the right from behind the knot.
Step 8: Stitches round
Draw 2 thin lines along the front of the belt and 2 along the back, following its curve.
Step 9: Stitches down
On each hanging end, draw a thin line down one side, across near the cut edge and back up.
Step 10: Yellow knot and ends
Colour the knot and the 2 hanging ends yellow.
Step 11: Colour the loop
Colour the rest of the belt yellow, front and back. Your karate belt is tied!
