How to Draw a Doghouse
Draw a doghouse in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the roof.
Step 1: The roof
Near the top of your paper, draw a pointy roof with a thick brim that sticks out on both sides.
Step 2: The walls
Start on the brim near the left. Draw a wall down, across the bottom, and back up to the brim.
Tip A doghouse is short and squat: the roof is as tall as the walls.
Step 3: The big doorway
Fill the front with a big round doorway: straight up, a big rainbow over the top, and straight down.
Tip The doorway is almost half as wide as the wall, so a dog fits.
Step 4: The dog's head
In the doorway, draw a round dog head, a little wider than tall, with a floppy ear each side.
Step 5: The dog's face
Draw 2 round eyes a finger apart with black dots. Add a flat muzzle, a black nose and W mouth.
Step 6: Chest and paws
From under each ear, draw a line down to the bottom of the doorway for the chest. Add 2 paws.
Step 7: The name plate
Above the doorway, on the roof, draw a little wide sign with a bone inside it.
Step 8: The ground
Draw the ground line from each bottom corner out to the edge of the paper, with grass at each end.
Step 9: Bowl and bone
On the right, draw a low, wide bowl with an oval rim. On the left, draw a bone.
Step 10: Cream and yellow
Colour the bone, sign, muzzle and paws cream, and the walls yellow, going around the doorway.
Step 11: Red roof, brown dog
Colour the roof red around the sign, and the dog brown around the muzzle and paws. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Dark doorway
Colour the inside of the doorway slate grey, going around the dog.
Step 13: Blue bowl
Colour the bowl blue. Go over your lines and your doghouse is done!
