How to Draw Jumping Into a Pool

Step 1: Big egg head

High up, left of the middle, draw a big egg for the head.

Tip Leave room on the right for the knees and below for the pool.

Step 2: Big grin

On the right of the head draw 2 tall oval eyes with black dots. Add a wide open grin below.

Step 3: Hair flying up

Draw hair over the top and back of the head, with 3 pointed locks streaming straight up.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the hair. The hair flies up because the child is falling.

Step 4: Curled body

From the back of the head curve the back down to the bottom. From the chin draw the chest down.

Step 5: Hugged knee

From the bottom draw a fat thigh up to the knee, a shin down to a bare foot, and back.

Tip The knee comes up as high as the chin.

Step 6: Shorts, other leg

Draw a shorts line across the thigh. From the knee draw the other leg peeking out, down to its foot.

Step 7: Hugging arm

Draw a sleeve on the shoulder. From it bend an arm over the thigh to a hand on the shin.

Tip Rub out the leg and body lines inside the arm and sleeve.

Step 8: Pool ladder

Low on the left draw 2 tall thin rails with tops that hook outwards. Join them with 3 short rungs.

Step 9: Edge and water

Start at the left. Draw a straight line across to the right, behind the ladder. Add a wavy line below.

Step 10: Swim ring

Below the wavy line draw a flat oval swim ring with a smaller flat oval inside. Add 3 ripples.

Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheek

Colour a pink cheek, then the face, arm and legs peach. Leave the eyes and grin white.

Step 12: Yellow top and ring

Colour the T-shirt and its sleeve yellow. Colour the swim ring yellow too.

Step 13: Red shorts, grey edge

Colour the shorts red. Colour the ladder and the band between your 2 long lines light grey.

Step 14: Blue water, brown hair

Colour the water blue, right down to the bottom of the page. Colour the hair brown.
