How to Draw a Dancer
Draw a dancer in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.
Step 1: Egg head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room below for the dress and legs, and right for a raised arm.
Step 2: The face
On the head draw 2 eyes with a black dot and a lash. Add a nose and smile.
Step 3: Hair and fringe
Start on the left of the head by the eyebrows. Draw the hair over the top, down to the right.
Step 4: Long hair and flower
On each side draw long hair from the temple down to the shoulder and back up. Add a flower.
Step 5: Neck and dress
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw the dress down to a wide hem, back to the neck.
Step 6: Ruffles
Start on the left edge of the skirt. Draw a row of bumps across to the right edge. Repeat lower.
Step 7: Arms
From each sleeve draw 2 lines, stop at a thin wrist: one arm out, one curving up by the head.
Tip Let each arm bend softly at the elbow, like a dancer.
Step 8: Mitten hands
Start at each wrist. Draw a round mitten, ending back at the wrist. Add a thumb on the side hand.
Step 9: Legs
From under the hem draw 2 lines for each leg, down to a thin ankle. Slant the right leg out.
Step 10: Slippers and ground
Draw a slipper on each foot, one flat and one on its pointed toe. Add a ground line.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, neck, arms, hands and legs peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Yellow flower, red dress
Colour the flower yellow and the dress red.
Step 13: Black hair, red slippers
Colour the hair black around the flower, and both slippers red. Go over your lines. Your dancer is done!
