How to Draw a Joystick
Draw a joystick in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the base front.
Step 1: The base front
Below the middle of your paper draw a wide rectangle with rounded bottom corners, twice as wide as tall.
Step 2: Top and side
Draw a slanted top like a box lid. From its right corner, draw a side down to the bottom corner.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the front of the base draw 2 big egg eyes. Add a big black dot and a shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The stick
Start in the middle of the top. Draw a little dome, then 2 close lines up. Stop above the middle.
Step 6: The ball
On top of the stick draw a round ball as big as a plum. Add a short shine curve.
Step 7: The button
On the right of the top draw a flat oval button.
Step 8: Wiggle lines
On each side of the ball draw a curved line bending away, to show the stick waggling.
Step 9: Sparkles and floor
Draw 3 sparkle stars around the joystick. Add a floor line under the base.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles
Colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.
Step 11: Grey top, red ball
Colour the top and side of the base grey. Colour the ball and the button red.
Step 12: Slate front, black stick
Go over your lines. Colour the front slate around the face, and the stick black. Your joystick is done!
Tip Leave the eyes white.
