How to Draw a Half-Pipe
Draw a half-pipe in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: left ramp.
Step 1: Left ramp
On the left draw a ramp: a short flat deck, then a big smile curve down to the ground.
Tip A half-pipe is a U: 2 ramps facing each other.
Step 2: Right ramp
On the right draw the same ramp the other way round, with a big curve down to the ground.
Tip Leave a flat gap between the 2 curves.
Step 3: Metal pipes
On the top edge of each ramp, where the deck meets the curve, draw a small circle.
Step 4: Deck rails
Start at the outer end of each deck. Draw 2 low posts, and a bar across to join their tops.
Step 5: Plank lines
On each ramp side draw 3 straight lines from the outer edge in towards the curve, for the planks.
Step 6: The skateboard
In the flat middle draw a skateboard: a long thin board with curled-up ends and 2 round wheels.
Step 7: Ground line
Draw one long ground line along the bottom of both ramps, under the wheels.
Step 8: Small sun
Above the right ramp, draw a small round sun with short rays all around it.
Step 9: Puffy cloud
In the sky on the left, draw a small puffy cloud with a flat bottom.
Step 10: Yellow sun, tan ramps
Colour the sun yellow and both ramps tan, leaving the plank lines showing. Leave the cloud white.
Step 11: Red skateboard
Colour the skateboard red.
Step 12: Grey wheels and pipes
Colour the wheels and the 2 metal pipes grey. Go over your lines and your half-pipe is done!
