How to Draw a Jar
Draw a jar in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the lid.
Step 1: The lid
Near the top of the paper, draw a wide lid: a long bar with round top corners.
Step 2: The glass jar
Under the lid, a little in from each end, draw a plump jar with round shoulders and a flat bottom.
Tip Make the jar a bit wider than the lid.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Draw 2 big egg eyes just below the shoulders. Colour a black dot in each with a white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Draw a wide U smile under the eyes. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: Lid line
Draw a line across the lid, halfway down, from one edge to the other.
Step 6: Honey line
Draw a wavy line across the jar under the cheeks, from one side to the other. That is the honey.
Step 7: Label and heart
Draw a flat oval label in the middle of the jar, under the honey line. Add a little heart inside.
Step 8: Shine lines
Start just inside the left shoulder. Draw a long thin line down, then a short one. Stop above the cheek.
Step 9: The shadow
Draw a flat oval around the bottom of the jar for its shadow.
Step 10: The table
From each end of the shadow, draw a straight table line out to the side.
Step 11: Yellow honey
Colour the honey yellow under the wavy line, going around the label. Leave the eyes and glass white.
Step 12: Pink cheeks, grey shadow
Colour the cheeks pink and the shadow grey around the jar.
Step 13: Red lid and heart
Colour the lid and the heart red, and your honey jar is done!
