How to Draw a Jail Cell
Draw a jail cell in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the stone wall.
Step 1: The stone wall
Draw a big square box that fills most of your page. This is the stone wall.
Step 2: The doorway
Inside it draw a smaller box, leaving a thick wall all round. Make the bottom wall a bit thinner.
Step 3: The lock
In the very middle draw a square lock plate with soft corners. Add a keyhole: a dot with a tail.
Step 4: The cross bar
Draw a flat bar across the doorway, from each side to the lock.
Step 5: Five bars
Draw 5 tall bars from the top of the doorway to the bottom. Lift your pencil at the cross bar.
Tip Put the middle bar behind the lock first, then space 2 more on each side.
Step 6: The bed
Behind the bars draw a long flat bed on 2 short legs. Lift your pencil at each bar.
Step 7: Pillow and floor
Add a soft pillow on the bed's left end. Draw a floor line from one side across to the other.
Step 8: Stone blocks
Draw short lines across the wall to make big stone blocks, the same on both sides.
Step 9: The ground
Draw one long ground line under the wall, out to both sides.
Step 10: Yellow lock
Colour the lock plate yellow, around the black keyhole.
Step 11: Back wall and floor
Between the bars colour the back wall cream and the floor tan. Leave the bed and pillow white.
Step 12: Blue bed, grey wall
Colour the bed and its legs blue, between the bars. Colour the stone wall grey all the way round.
Step 13: Dark bars
Colour the 5 bars and the cross bar dark grey. Your jail cell is done!
