How to Draw a Beach Boardwalk
Draw a beach boardwalk in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the walkway.
Step 1: The walkway
A little below the middle draw a long flat box across your paper from edge to edge.
Step 2: Planks
Draw short upright lines across the walkway, evenly spaced, for the plank ends.
Step 3: Posts
Under the walkway draw 4 tall posts, all the same length.
Step 4: The railing
On the left draw 4 rail posts. Start at the left post and draw 2 rails, ending at the right.
Tip A boardwalk is a wooden path on posts along the beach.
Step 5: The shop
On the right of the walkway draw a box shop with a pointed roof that sticks out past the walls.
Step 6: Awning, window and door
Draw a flat awning. From its right end draw 4 bumps, ending at the left. Add a window and door.
Step 7: A gull
On the top rail draw a gull standing: a plump body, a round head, a pointed beak, a dot eye.
Step 8: Lamp post
Between the railing and shop start on the walkway. Draw a post straight up and stop at a round lamp.
Step 9: Sand and sea
Draw a sand line under the posts, edge to edge. Below it draw 2 wavy sea lines, edge to edge.
Step 10: The sun
In the top left corner draw a round sun with 8 short rays around it.
Step 11: Yellow sun, cream shop
Colour the sun and lamp yellow. Colour the shop cream, leaving the window and door white.
Step 12: Sandy beach, blue sea
Colour the sand tan and the sea blue, right out to the edges of the paper.
Step 13: Red roof, brown walkway
Colour the roof and awning red, and the walkway and posts brown. Your boardwalk is done!
