How to Draw a Farmhouse
Draw a farmhouse in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the roof.
Step 1: The roof
Near the top of your paper draw a big wide triangle roof. Give each bottom corner a short flat end.
Step 2: The walls
Start under the roof, in from the left corner. Draw the wall down, across and up to the roof.
Step 3: The porch roof
Right under the roof, from each wall draw a short slope out and down. Join the ends with a line.
Step 4: Porch posts
Just inside each wall draw a line from the porch roof down to the bottom. That strip is a post.
Step 5: The door and steps
Draw a rainbow-top door in the middle. From the bottom line draw 2 wide steps down and back to it.
Step 6: Windows
Each side of the door draw a square window with a plus inside. In the roof draw a round window.
Step 7: The porch rail
Level with the door bottom, draw a rail from each post to the door, with 2 short posts under it.
Step 8: Chimney and smoke
On the right slope draw a chimney box standing on the roof, with a wider cap. Add 3 smoke puffs.
Step 9: Fence and ground
Draw the ground from each wall corner out to the edge. Add 3 pickets each side, joined by a rail.
Step 10: Sky windows, cream pickets
Colour the windows sky blue and the fence pickets cream.
Step 11: Red roof, white walls
Colour the roof and the porch roof red, around the round window. Leave the walls white.
Step 12: Wooden door, brown chimney
Colour the door, posts and steps wood brown and the chimney brown. Go over your lines, and you are done!
