How to Draw a Door
Draw a door in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the door.
Step 1: The door
In the middle draw a tall box for the door, about twice as tall as it is wide.
Step 2: The door frame
Start beside the door's bottom corner. Draw the frame up, across the top and down, stopping level with the bottom.
Tip Keep the frame a thumb's width outside the door all the way round.
Step 3: The step
Under the door draw a flat box for the step, poking out past the frame on both sides.
Step 4: Ground line
Draw the ground line from edge to edge, level with the bottom of the step.
Step 5: Small window
Near the top of the door draw a wide box for a small window.
Step 6: Window panes
Draw a line down the middle of the window and a line across it, making 4 little panes.
Step 7: Two tall panels
On the bottom half of the door draw 2 tall boxes side by side.
Tip Leave a wide gap between the window and the panels.
Step 8: Round knob
In the gap, near the door's right edge, draw a round knob for the handle.
Step 9: Letter slot
In the middle of the gap draw a long thin box for the letter slot, with a black slit inside.
Step 10: Sky window, yellow brass
Go over your lines. Colour the window sky blue, and the knob and letter slot yellow.
Step 11: Stone frame and step
Colour the door frame and the step stone grey.
Step 12: Red door
Colour the door red, around the window, the knob and the letter slot. Your front door is done!
