How to Draw a Jacket Potato
Draw a jacket potato in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
Near the bottom draw a long flat oval plate, nearly as wide as the page, with a second oval inside.
Step 2: The potato
On the plate draw a big fat lumpy oval lying down, as wide as your hand, for the potato.
Tip A jacket potato is baked in its skin, split open and piled with toppings.
Step 3: The split
Across the top of the potato draw a long soft opening with round ends, for the split.
Step 4: The bean heap
Start on the split's front edge, draw a bumpy heap up over the top, and stop on the edge.
Step 5: Little beans
Inside the heap draw 6 small beans, like tiny ovals, with space between them.
Step 6: Spilling over
Draw a drip of sauce running over the front edge, and one bean fallen on the plate.
Step 7: A pat of butter
On top of the heap draw a small tilted square with round corners, for the butter.
Step 8: Steam
Above the potato draw 2 wiggly steam lines going up.
Step 9: The table
Draw a line under the plate from well left to well right, just touching its bottom.
Step 10: Cream and butter
Colour the inside of the split cream, going around the beans, and the butter yellow.
Step 11: Peach beans, orange sauce
Colour the beans peach, then the sauce and the drip orange, going around the beans and the butter.
Step 12: Tan potato
Colour the potato skin tan, going around the split and the beans.
Step 13: Sky plate
Colour the plate sky blue, going around the potato. Go over your lines and your jacket potato is done!
