How to Draw a Macadamia
Draw a macadamia in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the nut.
Step 1: The nut
A little left of the middle draw a big round nut, as big as your fist.
Tip A macadamia is a round creamy nut inside the hardest shell of all.
Step 2: Half shell
Round the nut's bottom draw a shell cup with a cracked top. Under its edge add a side-to-side line.
Tip The second line shows how thick the hard shell is.
Step 3: A crack
On the front of the cup draw a short bent crack, from near the bottom up toward the rim.
Step 4: A shine
Inside the upper left of the nut draw a small oval sliver for a shine.
Step 5: A whole one
To the right, on the ground, draw a whole macadamia still in its shell: a small round ball, much smaller.
Step 6: Pale spot
Near the top of the whole shell draw a small flat oval for its pale spot.
Step 7: Ground and grass
Draw a long ground line under both nuts, nearly edge to edge. Add 3 grass blades at each end.
Step 8: Cream nut
Go over your lines. Colour the nut above the shell and the little spot cream, leaving the shine white.
Step 9: Tan rim
Colour the thick band along the top of the half shell tan.
Step 10: Brown shells
Colour the rest of the half shell and the whole shell brown, around the spot. Your macadamia is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a macadamia, drawn by you.
