How to Draw an Integral Sign
Draw an integral sign in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the long line.
Step 1: The long line
Start top right. Draw over a hump and down a long leaning line. Curl left and stop.
Tip The sign leans a little, like a tall thin letter S.
Step 2: Top ball
Go back to the start. Curl down and round to the left into a small ball. Stop under the hump.
Step 3: Make it fat
Start at the ball. Draw a second line beside the first, down and round under the curl. Stop there.
Tip Keep the gap widest down the middle and thin round the two hooks.
Step 4: Bottom ball
From where you stopped, curl up and round to the right into a ball. Stop at the first line's end.
Step 5: A shine
Inside the fat part, above the middle, draw 1 short line along it. Do not touch the edges.
Step 6: Three sparkles
In the space round the sign, draw 3 little sparkle stars: 1 on the left and 2 on the right.
Tip A sparkle star has 4 points: up, down, left and right.
Step 7: A shadow
Under the sign, draw a long thin flat oval for its shadow, with the bottom curl sitting on it.
Step 8: Yellow sparkles
Go over your lines. Colour the 3 sparkles yellow.
Step 9: Grey shadow
Colour the shadow grey.
Step 10: Blue sign
Colour the whole sign blue, both balls too. Your integral sign is done!
Tip In maths this sign means: add up lots of tiny pieces.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: an integral sign, drawn by you.
