How to Draw a Balcony
Draw a balcony in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the wall.
Step 1: The wall
Draw a big tall box for the wall of the building, filling most of your paper.
Step 2: The doors
In the middle draw a door with a rainbow top. Add a line from its top down to the bottom.
Step 3: Door glass
In each door draw a tall piece of glass. Curve its top to follow the top of the door.
Step 4: Glass bars
Draw a short flat line across each glass, from side to side, where the curve begins.
Step 5: The balcony floor
Under the doors draw a long flat block for the floor, much wider than the doors.
Tip A balcony is a little floor that sticks out from the wall.
Step 6: The handrail
Across the doors, just under the glass, draw a long thin bar nearly as wide as the floor.
Tip Rub out the door lines inside the handrail.
Step 7: End posts
Under each end of the handrail draw a thin post down to the floor.
Step 8: The bars
Between the posts draw 7 straight bars, each from the handrail down to the floor.
Tip Keep the gaps between the bars the same.
Step 9: Two supports
Under the floor, near each end, draw a small block that gets thinner as it goes down.
Step 10: A few bricks
Draw 4 small bricks on the wall: 2 stacked at the top left and 2 at the bottom right.
Step 11: Blue glass
Colour the 2 pieces of door glass sky blue.
Step 12: Peach wall
Colour the wall peach, around the doors and the balcony. Colour between the bars too.
Step 13: Grey balcony
Colour the floor, the handrail, the 2 posts and the 2 supports light grey.
Step 14: Green doors
Go over your lines. Colour the doors green, between the bars too. Your balcony is done!
