How to Draw a Ferris Wheel
Draw a ferris wheel in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big wheel.
Step 1: The big wheel
Draw a big round wheel in the top of your paper. Add a second circle just inside it.
Step 2: Hub and four spokes
Draw a small circle in the middle. Draw 4 spokes from it out to the inner circle, like a plus.
Step 3: Four more spokes
Draw 4 more spokes in the gaps, like an X. Start each at the hub, stop at the inner circle.
Step 4: Four seats
Start on the wheel's top, bottom and sides. Draw a short line down and stop at a little cup seat.
Step 5: Four more seats
Start on the wheel in each gap. Draw 4 more short lines down and stop at 4 more cup seats.
Step 6: The ground
Draw a long ground line across, a little way below the lowest seat.
Step 7: Two legs
Start at the hub. Draw 2 long thin legs down to the ground, leaning apart like an A.
Step 8: A cross bar
Draw a straight bar from one leg across to the other, between the lowest seat and the ground.
Step 9: Yellow ring
Colour the ring between the 2 big circles yellow, going around the seats and legs. Colour the hub yellow too.
Step 10: Red seats
Colour 4 seats red: the top one, the bottom one and the 2 at the sides.
Step 11: Blue seats
Colour the other 4 seats blue.
Step 12: Grey legs
Colour the 2 legs grey. Go over your lines and your big wheel is ready to turn!
