How to Draw a Modern House
Draw a modern house in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tall block.
Step 1: The tall block
On the left of your paper draw a tall box for the big part of the house.
Step 2: The low block
Start on the tall block's right side. Draw a lower box about as wide and stop at the bottom.
Step 3: Flat roofs
On top of each block draw a thin flat roof that sticks out a little, like a lid.
Step 4: The big window
On the tall block draw a big square window. Add a line down the middle and one across.
Step 5: Window and door
On the low block draw a wide window with a line down it. Add a tall thin door beside it.
Step 6: A low window
Under the big window draw a long low window box.
Step 7: Path and ground
Start under the door. Draw a path down, across and up, stopping on the house. Add a long ground line.
Step 8: Tree and bushes
On the left draw a fluffy tree. Under the wide window add 2 bushes, starting and ending on the ground.
Step 9: The sun
Draw a round sun with 8 short rays in the top right.
Step 10: Sky windows, wood door
Go over your lines. Colour the windows sky blue, and the door, roof slabs and trunk wood brown.
Step 11: Green grass, yellow sun
Colour the treetop, bushes and the grass under the ground line leaf green, around the path. Colour the sun yellow.
Step 12: Cream and grey walls
Colour the tall block and path cream, the low block grey, around the windows, door and bushes. You are done!
