How to Draw an Ice Skate
Draw an ice skate in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the boot sole.
Step 1: The boot sole
Near the bottom of your paper draw a long fat slab for the sole. The toe lifts up a little.
Step 2: Round toe
Start on the sole at the toe tip. Draw a small round toe and stop on the sole further back.
Step 3: Front, collar and heel
Start on the toe. Draw a straight slope up, across the collar, then down the heel. Stop on the sole.
Tip Keep the front slope nearly straight, and make the boot much taller than a shoe.
Step 4: Collar and pull tab
Draw a band under the collar, from the slope back to the heel. Add a little loop above the heel.
Step 5: Lace panel
Start on the band. Draw a long line down beside the front slope, curling forward to stop on the toe.
Step 6: Wide tongue
Start at the front corner of the collar. Draw a wide upside-down U and stop on the collar.
Step 7: X laces
Across the lace panel draw 3 bold X shapes, one above the other, each X touching both edges.
Step 8: One big bow
On the tongue draw a small knot with a fat loop each side. Add 2 short ribbon tails.
Step 9: Blade posts
Under the sole draw 2 little posts, 1 under the toe and 1 under the heel.
Step 10: The blade
Under the posts draw a long thin blade, 2 close lines from the heel, curling up to meet the toe.
Step 11: Ice and sparkles
Draw a straight ice line across the paper under the blade. Add 2 little sparkle stars above the toe.
Step 12: Pink bow, yellow stars
Leave the boot white. Colour the bow pink and the sparkle stars yellow.
Step 13: Grey blade and sole
Go over your lines. Colour the blade and posts grey, and the sole dark grey.
