How to Draw an Ice Cube Tray
Draw an ice cube tray in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tray.
Step 1: The tray
A little below the middle draw a long low box with soft corners, nearly as wide as the paper.
Step 2: A big cube
Left of the middle, draw a big soft-cornered square sitting in the tray, its sides stopping at the tray top.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the cube draw 2 big egg eyes side by side. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile, and a tiny flat oval cheek on each side of it.
Step 5: A small cube
To the right, draw a smaller soft-cornered square sitting in the tray, its sides stopping at the tray top.
Step 6: The pockets
On the tray draw a line across the middle and 5 lines down, making 2 rows of square pockets.
Step 7: A shine
In the top right corner of the small cube draw a little curved line for a shine.
Step 8: Table line
Along the bottom of the tray, draw a long straight table line from near one edge to the other.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 3 little 4-point sparkles in the air around the cubes, not touching them.
Step 10: Yellow and pink
Go over your lines. Colour the sparkles yellow and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Sky blue cubes
Colour both cubes sky blue around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Blue tray
Colour the tray blue, and your ice cube tray is done!
