How to Draw a Hydrangea Bush
Draw a hydrangea bush in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the left side.
Step 1: The left side
Start low on the left. Draw 5 big soft bumps climbing up to the right, stopping at the top middle.
Step 2: The right side
Start where the top bump ended. Draw 4 more bumps down the right side, stopping level with where you began.
Step 3: The bottom
Start at the bottom of the left bump. Draw a straight ground line across, stopping at the right bump.
Step 4: Flower heads on top
On top of the bush draw 2 big bumpy flower heads, as big as plums, poking up above the bush.
Tip Where a head covers the bush line, the head wins.
Step 5: Heads at the sides
Draw one more bumpy flower head on each side edge of the bush, poking out past the bumpy line.
Step 6: One in the middle
Draw one last bumpy flower head in the middle of the bush, lower down.
Step 7: Big leaves
Draw 3 big pointy leaves peeking out under the heads. Add a middle line, stopping before the tip.
Step 8: Tiny flowers
In each top head draw 3 tiny flowers, each with 4 round petals. Keep them apart.
Step 9: More tiny flowers
Draw 3 tiny flowers the same way in each side head and the middle head.
Step 10: Ground and grass
From each bottom corner draw the ground out a little way. Flick up 2 grass blades each side.
Step 11: Sky-blue heads
Colour the 5 flower heads sky blue, tiny flowers and all.
Step 12: Green bush
Colour the bush and its leaves green, around the flower heads. Go over your lines, and your bush is done!
