How to Draw Huevos Rancheros
Draw huevos rancheros in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
In the middle of your paper draw a big flat oval plate, as wide as your hand.
Step 2: The rim
Draw a second oval a finger inside the plate, all the way round, for the rim.
Step 3: A tortilla
On the plate, left of the middle, draw a big flat oval a bit smaller than the rim: the tortilla.
Tip Huevos rancheros is fried eggs on a tortilla with salsa and beans.
Step 4: A fried egg
In the tortilla's middle draw a big wobbly egg white with a round yolk left of its middle.
Step 5: Salsa
On the right draw a big wobbly salsa puddle touching the egg, and a smaller puddle at the bottom left.
Step 6: Avocado
Left of the egg draw 3 fat half-moon avocado slices. Add a skin line inside each curve, tip to tip.
Step 7: Beans
On the right of the plate, beside the tortilla, draw a little heap of 5 small tilted beans.
Step 8: Little leaves
Draw 2 tiny pointy leaves: one on the top of the egg, one on the right edge of the salsa.
Step 9: Tan and yellow
Go over your lines. Colour the tortilla tan, the yolk and avocado insides yellow, and leave the egg white.
Step 10: Sky plate
Colour the plate sky blue, going around the tortilla and beans.
Step 11: Red salsa
Colour the salsa red.
Step 12: Dark skins, brown beans
Colour the avocado skins and the little leaves dark green, and the beans brown to finish.
