How to Draw a Bagel
Draw a bagel in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
Below the middle, draw a big flat oval plate, nearly as wide as the paper. Add a rim oval inside.
Step 2: The bagel
On the plate, draw a big oval lying down, about two thirds as wide as the rim: the bagel's top.
Tip A bagel lies flat, so its round top looks like a wide oval.
Step 3: The hole
In the middle of the oval, draw a smaller flat oval hole, about a third as wide as the bagel.
Step 4: The thick side
From the big oval's left end, curve out, round under the bagel and up to its right end.
Tip Make it round and puffy like a roll, not straight up and down like a tin.
Step 5: Inside the hole
Inside the hole, draw a curve from its left end, arching up under the top edge, to its right end.
Tip Above the curve is the inside wall. Below it you see the plate.
Step 6: Sesame seeds
On top of the bagel, draw 4 tiny thin ovals like grains of rice, each leaning a different way.
Step 7: More seeds
Draw 3 more tiny thin ovals in the gaps, each leaning its own way, not in rows.
Step 8: The table
Draw a long table line under the plate, just touching its bottom.
Step 9: Cream seeds
Go over your lines, then colour the seeds cream.
Step 10: Sky plate
Colour the plate sky blue around the bagel, and the see-through part of the hole too.
Step 11: Tan bagel
Colour the top, the side and the wall in the hole tan, around the seeds. Your bagel is done!
