How to Draw a House with a Porch
Draw a house with a porch in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pointed roof.
Step 1: Pointed roof
Near the top draw a big upside-down V. Draw a smaller one inside it and join the ends.
Tip Keep both sides the same length so the roof is even.
Step 2: Porch roof
Join the roof ends with a line. Under it draw a long low roof, wider at the bottom.
Step 3: Porch floor
Leave a tall gap, then draw a long thin floor. Draw a ground line a little below it.
Step 4: Four posts
Draw 4 thin posts holding up the porch roof: one at each end and 2 near the middle.
Tip Leave a wide gap in the middle for the door.
Step 5: Front door
Between the middle posts draw a tall door standing on the floor. Add a square window and a round knob.
Step 6: Two windows
On each side of the door draw a square window with a cross inside.
Step 7: Porch rails
On each side draw a long thin rail from the end post to the middle post, just under the window.
Step 8: Rail bars
Under each rail draw 4 short lines straight down to the floor.
Step 9: Front steps
Draw 3 steps under the door, each one wider. At each end start at the floor, stop at the ground.
Step 10: Chimney and round window
Draw a chimney behind the right side of the roof. Draw a round window with a cross under the point.
Step 11: Cream walls, blue windows
Go over your lines. Colour the walls cream and every window light blue. Leave the posts and rails white.
Step 12: Steps and floor
Colour the steps and the low wall grey. Colour the porch floor light brown.
Step 13: Roofs and door
Colour the door and chimney red. Colour both roofs green-blue. Your house is done!
