How to Draw a Hospital Bed
Draw a hospital bed in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two end boards.
Step 1: Two end boards
On the left, draw a tall thin board with a round top. On the far right, draw a shorter one.
Tip Leave lots of room between them for the bed.
Step 2: The bed frame
Just below the middle, join the 2 boards with a long thin bar.
Tip Keep the bar flat and level.
Step 3: Bent mattress
On the bar, draw a thick mattress. Near the left, bend it up towards the tall board.
Tip The raised end helps you sit up in bed.
Step 4: A short prop
Under the raised end, start on the mattress and draw a short line straight down to the bar.
Step 5: Puffy pillow
On the raised end, draw a puffy pillow that leans back with the mattress.
Tip Make it soft and round at both ends.
Step 6: The blanket
Over the flat end, draw a blanket hanging down to a wavy hem. Add a fold line under its top.
Tip Rub out the mattress and bar lines under the blanket.
Step 7: A cross
In the middle of the blanket, below the fold line, draw a plus-shaped cross.
Tip A cross is the sign for a hospital.
Step 8: Side rail
Start on the blanket top. Draw an upside-down U rail and stop on the blanket. Add 2 bars inside.
Tip The rail stops you rolling out of bed.
Step 9: Wheels and floor
Under each board, draw a round wheel with a small circle inside. Draw a floor line under them.
Step 10: Cream mattress
Go over your lines. Colour the mattress cream. Leave the pillow, the blanket fold and the cross white.
Step 11: Sky blue boards
Colour the tall board and the short board sky blue.
Step 12: Grey frame
Colour the long bar grey. Colour the small circle inside each wheel grey too.
Step 13: Teal blanket, dark wheels
Colour the blanket teal around the cross. Colour the wheels dark grey around their middles. Get well soon!
Tip Press gently so the teal stays inside the lines.
