How to Draw a Paint Tray and Roller
Draw a paint tray and roller in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tray side.
Step 1: The tray side
Low down, draw the tray side: flat top, tall left end, bottom sloping up to a short right end.
Tip The deep left end holds the paint. The shallow right end is the ramp.
Step 2: The open top
From the top left corner draw a line up, a long line across, and down to the top right corner.
Step 3: 2 big eyes
On the deep end of the tray side draw 2 big egg eyes, each with a black dot and shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile, and a small flat oval cheek beside each end of the smile.
Step 5: The paint pool
A third of the way along the top, draw a curvy line from back to front for the paint edge.
Tip The paint fills the deep left end.
Step 6: Ramp ribs
Right of the paint, draw 3 short slanted lines from back to front for the ribs of the ramp.
Step 7: The fluffy roller
On the ramp draw a fluffy roller: bumpy top and bottom, round ends. Add a curve inside the left end.
Step 8: The wire
From the middle of the right end, draw a wire out, up, and back over the middle of the roller.
Step 9: The handle
At the end of the wire, draw a long fat pill standing straight up for the handle.
Step 10: A paint drip
Under the paint, start on the tray's top edge. Draw a drip down, round at the bottom, and back up.
Step 11: Leg and ground
Under the right end draw a short leg down. Draw a ground line under the tray from left to right.
Step 12: Pink cheeks, sky tray
Colour the cheeks pink, then the tray, ramp and leg sky blue around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Grey wire, orange handle
Colour the wire grey and the handle orange.
Step 14: Blue paint and roller
Colour the paint, the drip and the fluffy roller blue. Your paint tray is ready!
