How to Draw a Horus
Draw a horus in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: falcon head.
Step 1: Falcon head
Near the top draw a round head, a little flat on top. Leave room above it for a crown.
Tip Horus has the head of a falcon and the body of a person.
Step 2: Hooked beak
On the left of the head draw a short beak that hooks down to a point. Add a smile line.
Tip The top of the beak curves over like a hook.
Step 3: Big eye
Near the beak draw a big egg-shaped eye. Colour a big black dot in it and leave a tiny shine.
Step 4: Flat crown
On the head draw a crown with a flat top. Sweep its back edge up into a tall round post.
Tip Start and stop on the head line.
Step 5: Tall crown
Inside the flat crown draw a tall crown like a bowling pin, with a round knob on top.
Step 6: Headdress
Draw a cloth round the back of the head, down to a flap. Add a matching flap under the beak.
Tip Both flaps end at the same height.
Step 7: The tunic
Start under the left flap. Draw a T-shirt shape with short sleeves and stop under the right flap.
Step 8: Broad collar
From flap to flap under the neck draw a curve. Draw a deeper curve under it for a wide collar.
Step 9: Arms and hands
From each sleeve draw an arm that gets thinner to the wrist and ends in a round hand.
Tip Keep the hands away from the kilt.
Step 10: Kilt and belt
Start at the tunic's left corner. Draw a round kilt, stop at the right corner. Add a belt and tab.
Step 11: Legs and sandals
From the kilt draw 2 legs down to the ankles. Add a flat sandal under each and a ground line.
Step 12: Yellow gold, peach skin
Colour the beak, collar, belt, tab and sandals yellow. Colour the neck, arms and legs peach.
Step 13: Red crown, blue headdress
Colour the flat crown red and the headdress blue.
Tip Leave the tall crown, tunic and kilt white.
Step 14: Brown falcon
Colour the falcon head brown. Leave the eye white. Go over your lines and Horus is done.
