How to Draw a Wheelchair Basketball

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a wheelchair basketball in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Egg head

Near the top, left of the middle, draw an egg head with a slightly narrower chin.

Tip Leave room on the right for the ball and the hoop.

  2. Step 2: Happy face

On the right half of the head draw 2 oval eyes with black dots looking up. Add a smile.

Tip The face sits to the right because the player is looking at the hoop.

  3. Step 3: Short hair

Draw hair over the top of the head and down the back. Add a hairline above the eyes.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the hair.

  4. Step 4: The body

Under the head draw a bean body with a flat bottom. Add a short sleeve pointing forward.

  5. Step 5: Bent leg, 2 shoes

Draw a leg that goes forward from the body, then bends down at the knee. Add 2 shoes.

Tip Only the toe of the far shoe shows.

  6. Step 6: Seat and footrest

Draw a thin seat under the leg, a short backrest behind the body and a flat footrest under the shoes.

Tip A sports chair has a low back and no armrests.

  7. Step 7: Big leaning wheel

Under the seat draw a big oval wheel, tipped a little. Draw a smaller ring inside. Add a floor line.

Tip Sports chair wheels lean in at the top. The inner ring is the push rim.

  8. Step 8: Spokes, little wheel

Draw a hub and 6 spokes in the big wheel. Add a post down to a little front wheel.

  9. Step 9: Shooting arm

From the sleeve draw an arm going forward, then bending up at the elbow. End it in a mitten hand.

Tip Make the arm a little thinner at the wrist.

  10. Step 10: Ball and far hand

Draw a round ball on the hand with 2 curved lines across it. Add the other arm peeking out behind.

Tip The far hand holds the other side of the ball.

  11. Step 11: The hoop

On the right draw a tall pole and a thin board. Add a flat ring and a crossed net.

  12. Step 12: Brown skin, red top

Colour the face, arms and hands brown. Colour the top and both shoes red. Leave the eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Orange and blue

Colour the ball and the hoop ring orange. Colour the trousers blue.

  14. Step 14: Grey and black

Colour the tyres, the chair and the pole dark grey. Colour the hair black. Leave the board and net white.
