How to Draw a Honeysuckle
Draw a honeysuckle in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the first trumpets.
Step 1: The first trumpets
Above the middle of your paper draw a small cup. From its top draw 2 long trumpets leaning out.
Tip Narrow at the cup, wide at the mouth, curving outward.
Step 2: The outer trumpets
From the cup draw a trumpet curving out far left and one far right, tucked behind the first 2.
Step 3: Split lips
At the mouth of each trumpet draw 2 round petal lobes curling out, like a little open mouth.
Step 4: Stamens
From the middle of each mouth draw 1 long thin line arcing outward, with a little dot on its end.
Step 5: The stem
Start under the cup and draw a thin stem down to near the bottom of the paper, bowing gently.
Step 6: Top leaves
A hand below the cup, draw a slim pointed leaf on each side of the stem.
Step 7: Bottom leaves
Lower down, draw 2 more slim pointed leaves, one on each side of the stem.
Step 8: Ground and grass
Start near the left edge. Draw a ground line through the stem's foot, stopping near the right edge. Add grass.
Step 9: Yellow lips
Go over your lines, then colour all the lips and the stamen dots yellow.
Step 10: Pink trumpets
Colour all 4 trumpets pink, up to the lips.
Step 11: Green cup and stem
Colour the cup, the stem and all 4 leaves green. Your honeysuckle is done!
