How to Draw Holly

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw holly in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: left leaf.

Print

  1. Step 1: Left leaf

In the middle, draw a big spiky leaf pointing down to the left, with 3 soft spikes along each edge.

Tip Holly spikes are soft points with round dips between them.

  2. Step 2: Right leaf

Draw a second leaf the same size pointing down to the right, its base close to the first leaf.

  3. Step 3: Middle veins

Draw a line down the middle of each leaf, from the base almost to the tip.

  4. Step 4: Side veins

From each middle vein, draw 2 short slanted lines out towards each edge, like branches.

  5. Step 5: Three berries

Where the leaves meet, draw 3 round berries as big as a grape: 2 side by side and 1 above.

  6. Step 6: A twig

Start on the top berry. Draw a thin twig up to the right, narrow at the tip, and back.

  7. Step 7: Berry shines

Inside the top left of each berry, draw a small curved line from edge to edge for a shine.

  8. Step 8: Green leaves

Colour both leaves leaf green, going round the berries.

  9. Step 9: Red berries

Colour the 3 berries red, leaving the shines white.

  10. Step 10: Brown twig

Colour the twig brown. Go over your lines and your holly is done!
