How to Draw an Avocado Pit Sprout
Draw an avocado pit sprout in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the glass.
Step 1: The glass
Draw a glass from the top left down, across and up to the top right. Add a flat oval rim.
Tip A pit grows into a little tree balanced over water.
Step 2: The pit
Draw a big egg-shaped pit, narrow end up, in the glass mouth. Rub out the back rim inside it.
Step 3: Toothpicks
Start on each side of the pit and draw 2 toothpicks out past the rim, one left, one right.
Step 4: The water
Inside the glass draw a gently curved line from side to side, a little below the rim, for the water.
Step 5: The root
From the bottom of the pit draw a thin root wiggling down, stopping near the glass bottom. Add 2 rootlets.
Step 6: The crack
Down the front of the pit draw a wiggly crack from just below the top to well above the bottom.
Step 7: The shoot
From the top of the pit draw a thin shoot growing straight up, wiggling a little, stopping near the top.
Step 8: Leaves
At the top of the shoot draw 2 leaves opening like a V. Add 2 smaller leaves lower down.
Step 9: The table
Draw a table line under the glass from well left to well right, just touching its bottom.
Step 10: Blue water, green leaves
Go over your lines, then colour the water light blue and the leaves green.
Step 11: Brown pit
Colour the pit brown, and your avocado sprout is done!
