How to Draw a Hip-Hop Dancer

Draw a hip-hop dancer in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.

Step 1: Egg head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room on the right for a raised arm.
Step 2: The face
On the head draw 2 eyes, a nose, a smile. Start a C ear each side, stop on the head.
Step 3: Backwards cap
Start on the left of the head by the eyebrows. Draw a dome over the head, down to the right.
Tip The brim points backwards: that is the hip-hop way.
Step 4: Neck and hoodie
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a baggy hoodie, one sleeve lifted, back to the neck.
Step 5: Arms
Start at each sleeve, draw 2 lines bending at the elbow and stop at the wrist. Point one arm up.
Step 6: Mitten hands
Start at each wrist, draw a round mitten with a thumb bump, and stop at the other side.
Step 7: Baggy trousers
Start at the bottom left of the hoodie. Draw baggy trousers with knees bent out, stop at the bottom right.
Tip Knees bend out like a low crouch: that is the dance stance.
Step 8: Two sneakers
Under each trouser leg draw a chunky sneaker flat on the ground, toes pointing out to the sides.
Step 9: Laces and ground
On each sneaker draw a toe cap and a lace line. Start left, draw a ground line, stop right.
Step 10: Music notes
On the left of the head draw 2 music notes: a filled-in oval, a stem up and a short flag.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, ears, neck, arms and hands peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Purple hoodie, navy trousers
Colour the hoodie and the hood purple, and the trousers navy blue.
Step 13: Red cap and sneakers
Colour the cap, the brim and both sneakers red. Go over your lines and you are done!
