How to Draw a Funny Face

Draw a funny face in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big egg head.

Step 1: Big egg head
Near the top, draw a big soft egg head, round at the cheeks and a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room above the head for wild hair.
Step 2: Two ears
On each side of the head, draw a C ear. Start on the head line and stop back on it.
Step 3: Odd eyes
Draw 1 big oval eye and 1 small oval eye. Add black dots that look at the nose, with shines.
Tip Eyes that do not match make a face look silly.
Step 4: Nose and grin
Between the eyes, draw a tiny U nose. Under it, draw a wide smile that curls up at both ends.
Step 5: Tongue out
Start on the middle of the smile. Draw a U tongue hanging down and back up to the smile.
Tip Add a short line down the middle of the tongue.
Step 6: Eyebrows
Draw a high curved eyebrow over the big eye and a flatter, lower one over the small eye.
Step 7: Wild hair
Start above the left ear. Draw 7 long floppy tufts sticking out round the top. Stop above the right ear.
Tip Round the tip of each tuft, like a finger.
Step 8: Hairline
Start where the hair meets the head on the left. Curve across the forehead to the hair on the right.
Step 9: Inside the ears
Inside each ear, draw a smaller C that follows the outside curve.
Step 10: Neck
Start under the chin. Draw 2 short neck lines straight down, stopping a little way below it.
Step 11: Shirt
From each neck line, draw a sloping shoulder down to a flat bottom edge. Add a U collar between them.
Step 12: Pink and peach
Colour the tongue and cheeks pink. Colour the face, ears and neck peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Orange hair, green shirt
Colour the wild hair orange and the shirt green. Go over your lines and your funny face is done.
