How to Draw a Cricket Player

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a cricket player in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Round head

Near the top of your paper draw a soft round head, as wide at the chin as on top.

Tip Leave most of the page below for the body, the bat and the stumps.

  2. Step 2: The face

In the middle of the head draw 2 oval eyes with black dots. Add a smile under them.

  3. Step 3: Helmet and peak

Draw a helmet over the head, running down into 2 ear guards. Across the forehead draw a curved peak.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the helmet and the peak.

  4. Step 4: Grille

From the left ear guard draw 3 bars across to the right one: 2 above the chin, 1 below.

Tip Keep the bars under the smile. The chin still shows between them.

  5. Step 5: Shirt and trousers

Draw a neck and a shirt with sloping shoulders, short sleeves and a V stripe. Add short trouser legs below.

  6. Step 6: Two arms

From each sleeve draw an arm curving out a little, then down, getting thinner to the wrist.

Tip Each arm bends softly at the elbow and starts inside its sleeve.

  7. Step 7: Padded gloves

Draw a big mitten with 2 finger lines on the left wrist, and a fist with 1 on the right.

Tip The finger lines start at the edge of each glove.

  8. Step 8: Cricket bat

Through the fist draw a thin handle going up, then a long flat blade. Add a V where they join.

Tip The blade is wide and flat with sloping shoulders. It leans out, away from the helmet.

  9. Step 9: Leg pads

Over each leg draw a tall pad with a round top. Draw 2 curves across each, from edge to edge.

Tip The pads start above the knee and get narrower at the ankle. Rub out the trouser lines inside them.

  10. Step 10: Boots and ground

Under each pad draw a boot with a round toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under them.

  11. Step 11: Stumps and bails

On the left stand 3 thin stumps on the ground line. Lay 2 small bails across their tops.

  12. Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour the face, the neck and both arms peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Cream pads, sandy bat

Colour the pads and the gloves cream. Colour the bat blade, the stumps and the bails sandy.

  14. Step 14: Green helmet, red handle

Colour the helmet and the collar stripe green and the bat handle red. Leave the shirt, trousers and boots white.
