How to Draw a Hexagon

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a hexagon in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: top half.

Print

  1. Step 1: Top half

Draw a flat line across the top. From each end, slant down and out, and stop halfway down.

Tip Make all 3 lines the same length. It looks like a wide hat.

  2. Step 2: Bottom half

From the end of each slant, slant back down and in. Join the 2 ends with a flat bottom line.

Tip A hexagon has 6 equal sides. Count them!

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

In the middle of the hexagon draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.

Tip Leave a tiny white dot in each black dot. That is the shine.

  4. Step 4: Big smile

Leave a gap under the eyes, then draw a wide U smile from under one eye to the other.

  5. Step 5: Rosy cheeks

Under the outside of each eye, clear of the smile, draw a small sideways oval for a cheek.

  6. Step 6: Sparkles

Draw 2 sparkle stars on each side of the hexagon, one high and one low.

Tip A sparkle star has 4 points: up, down, left and right.

  7. Step 7: The floor

Along the flat bottom, draw a long floor line from well past the left corner to past the right.

  8. Step 8: Pink cheeks

Colour the 2 cheeks rosy pink.

  9. Step 9: Yellow sparkles

    Colour the 4 sparkles yellow.

  10. Step 10: Green hexagon

Go over your lines and colour the hexagon green, around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white. You're done!
