How to Draw a Hedgehog Curled Up
Draw a hedgehog curled up in 9 easy steps, about 7 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big ball.
Step 1: The big ball
In the middle of your paper, draw a huge round ball, a little flat where it sits.
Tip A curled-up hedgehog is almost a perfect ball.
Step 2: Pointy face
Over the ball's bottom left, draw a small sideways teardrop face with its pointy snout sticking out left.
Tip Rub out the ball line inside the face.
Step 3: Nose, eye and cheek
Draw a black ball nose on the snout tip. Add a short smile, 1 big eye and a cheek oval.
Step 4: Crown of spikes
Start on the ball's upper left. Draw 5 spikes along the ball, each taller, and stop near the top.
Tip Every spike leans the same way, like a row of tents.
Step 5: Spikes all round
Start where the fifth spike ended. Zigzag spikes all round the ball, getting smaller, and stop before the ground.
Step 6: Inner quills
Inside the ball, draw a row of 6 short quill lines following the curve, all leaning back.
Step 7: The ground
Start at the left edge. Draw a ground line across to the right edge, touching the ball and the chin.
Step 8: Pink cheek, tan face
Colour the cheek pink, then the face tan around it. Leave the eye white.
Step 9: Brown spiky ball
Go over your lines, then colour the spiky ball brown, around the face.
