How to Draw a Hedge
Draw a hedge in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: left side and top.
Step 1: Left side and top
Start low left. Draw small bumps straight up and along the flat top, stopping at the right corner.
Step 2: The right side
From where the top ended, round the corner and draw small bumps straight down, stopping level with the left.
Step 3: The ground
Draw a long straight ground line along the bottom of the hedge, from edge to edge.
Step 4: Leafy rows
Inside the hedge draw 3 rows of 7 hill bumps from edge to edge, spaced out, so it looks leafy.
Step 5: Two sprigs
Start in a dip on the top, left and right. Draw a curved line up, stopping a finger above.
Step 6: Sprig leaves
On each sprig draw 3 small pointed leaves: one on the tip and one on each side.
Step 7: Little flowers
Draw 5 little flowers in the leafy rows, clear of the lines: a small dot, then 5 round petals.
Step 8: Grass
At each end, a little away from the hedge, start on the ground and flick 2 short grass blades up.
Step 9: Pink flowers
Colour the middle dots yellow, then the petals pink around them.
Step 10: Green hedge
Colour the hedge and sprig leaves green, around the flowers. Go over your lines and your hedge is done!
