Print

  1. Step 1: A round plate

Draw a big circle on the left of your page. Draw a second circle just inside it for the rim.

Tip Draw round a bowl to get a neat circle.

  2. Step 2: 4 equal parts

Draw 2 lines across the inside circle: start at the top, stop at the bottom, then left to right.

Tip Each part is for one kind of food.

  3. Step 3: Broccoli

In the top left part draw broccoli: a cloud top with 3 round bumps on a short thick stalk.

Tip Vegetables go in this part.

  4. Step 4: A carrot

Beside the broccoli draw a carrot, round at the top and pointed at the bottom, with 3 leaves.

  5. Step 5: An apple

In the top right part draw a round apple with a dip on top, a short stem and a leaf.

Tip Fruit goes in this part.

  6. Step 6: A slice of bread

In the bottom left part draw a slice of bread: straight sides, a flat bottom and 2 bumps on top.

Tip Bread, rice and pasta are grains.

  7. Step 7: A fried egg

In the last part draw a wobbly fried egg. Draw a round yolk in the middle of it.

Tip Eggs, fish and beans help you grow strong.

  8. Step 8: A glass of milk

Top right, draw a glass, wider at the top. Start a milk line on its left, stop on its right.

  9. Step 9: Fork and knife

Under the glass draw a fork with 3 prongs and a knife with a round tip, side by side.

  10. Step 10: Yellow and orange

Colour the egg yolk yellow and the carrot orange.

  11. Step 11: Tan and grey

Colour the slice of bread tan. Colour the fork and the knife grey.

  12. Step 12: Green and red

Colour the broccoli, the carrot leaves and the apple leaf green. Colour the apple red.

  13. Step 13: Light blue plate

Colour the plate light blue around the foods, and the top of the glass. Leave the egg and milk white.

  14. Step 14: Blue rim

Go over your lines. Colour the rim of the plate blue, all the way round.

Tip A healthy plate has some of every kind of food.
