How to Draw a Currant Bunch

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a currant bunch in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the stalk.

Print

  1. Step 1: The stalk

From near the top middle draw a thin stalk that curves right, then hangs down nearly to the bottom.

Tip Currants are tiny sweet-sour berries that dangle in strings from one stalk.

  2. Step 2: First berries

Along the top of the stalk draw 3 fingertip-sized rounds, a little way out from it: left, right, left.

  3. Step 3: More berries

Keep going down the stalk with 3 more small rounds, swapping sides each time: right, left, right.

  4. Step 4: Last berries

Finish with 3 more rounds near the bottom of the stalk, swapping sides, the last one at the very end.

  5. Step 5: Tiny stems

Join each of the top 5 berries to the stalk with a tiny curved line from the berry's top.

  6. Step 6: More tiny stems

Join the rest of the berries to the stalk the same way.

  7. Step 7: A leaf

At the stalk's top draw a pointed leaf leaning up-left, with a line from the stalk to its tip.

  8. Step 8: Leaf veins

From the leaf's middle line draw 2 short veins, one out to each side.

  9. Step 9: Red berries

Go over your lines, then colour all the berries red.

  10. Step 10: Green leaf, brown stalk

Colour the leaf green and the stalk brown.
