How to Draw a Lamington
Draw a lamington in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
Below the middle of your paper draw a long flat oval plate. Draw a second oval just inside it.
Step 2: A cube of cake
On the left of the plate draw a soft box shape, like a cube seen from the corner.
Tip A lamington is sponge cake dipped in chocolate and rolled in coconut.
Step 3: The box edges
Inside the cube draw its edges: a line across where the top meets the front, and one down the corner.
Step 4: The cut half
On the right draw a lower, wider cube the same way, with its edge lines inside.
Step 5: The layers inside
On the cut half draw a jam band across the middle. Add a line across near the top and bottom.
Step 6: The table
Draw a line under the plate from far left to far right, just touching its bottom.
Step 7: Sky plate, tan sponge
Go over your lines. Colour the plate sky blue and the 2 sponge stripes on the cut half tan.
Step 8: Red jam
Colour the jam band in the middle of the sponge red.
Step 9: Brown cube
Colour the cube brown. Leave tiny white specks of coconut on its front, top and side.
Step 10: Brown cut half
Colour the cut half's top, side and thin bands brown. Leave tiny white specks on its top and side.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a lamington, drawn by you.
