How to Draw a Space Shuttle
Draw a space shuttle in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
Draw a cigar body climbing up right. Near its round nose, curve a cap line from top down to bottom.
Tip No bulges: a smooth cigar.
Step 2: Eyes and grin
In the front half draw 2 big eyes with a black dot and shine. Add a U grin under them.
Step 3: Two windows
Near the nose cap, draw 2 small slanted windows along the top of the body, clear of the eyes.
Step 4: Big wing
Start on the tummy under the eyes. Draw a big triangle wing slanting down and back to a rounded tip.
Step 5: Far wing
From the top line behind the eyes, draw a slim wing sloping up and back, then down to the line.
Step 6: Two engine cups
On the tail end draw 2 short flared cups, one above the other, like 2 little trumpets.
Step 7: Tall tail fin
Start on the top line by the far wing. Draw a tall fin up and back, down to the tail.
Step 8: Flame
From the engine cups draw one fat teardrop flame pointing back. Start at the top cup, stop at the bottom.
Step 9: Black belly line
Start under the nose cap. Draw one thin line back just above the tummy, stopping at the tail.
Step 10: Stars in space
Draw 4 little 5-point stars around the shuttle, one near each corner of the paper.
Step 11: Stars and windows
Go over your lines. Colour the 4 stars yellow and the windows sky blue. Leave the shuttle and eyes white.
Step 12: Pink cheeks, orange flame
Add a pink cheek by each eye. Colour the flame orange.
Step 13: Grey engines, black belly
Colour the 2 engine cups grey. Colour the thin belly strip and the nose cap black.
