How to Draw a Zamboni
Draw a Zamboni in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the long body.
Step 1: The long body
Low on your paper, draw a long box with soft corners, about 4 times as long as it is tall.
Step 2: Snow tank hump
On the back of the box, draw a big rounded hump for the snow tank. Leave room in front.
Tip The hump is the tank that holds the shaved snow.
Step 3: Head and helmet
In front of the tank, above the box, draw a round head. Draw a helmet over its top.
Step 4: Eyes and smile
On the face, draw 2 big round eyes with black dots and a shine. Add a smile under them.
Step 5: The driver's body
Under the head, draw a rounded body sitting on the box, with its back against the tank.
Step 6: Steering wheel and arm
Draw a stick up to an oval wheel. Draw a bent arm from the shoulder to a mitten on it.
Step 7: Two wheels
Under the box, draw a wheel near each end, tucked a little under the box. Add a hub in each.
Step 8: Scraper box
Behind the machine, draw a low wide box on the ice, joined to the back by a slanted arm.
Tip The scraper box at the back makes it a Zamboni, not a truck.
Step 9: Ice and light
Rule an ice line under the wheels and scraper box, edge to edge. Add a round light on the front.
Step 10: Yellow light, peach face
Colour the light yellow, and the face and mitten peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Grey hubs, red driver
Colour the wheel hubs grey. Colour the helmet, the driver's body and the arm red.
Step 12: Blue machine
Colour the snow tank and the long body blue, around the light.
Step 13: Slate wheels and scraper
Colour the wheels around the hubs, the steering wheel, its stick, the scraper box and its arm slate grey.
