How to Draw a Hanukkah Sufganiyot
Draw a hanukkah sufganiyot in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
Below the middle, on the left, draw a long flat oval plate. Add a second oval inside for the rim.
Tip The plate comes first; the doughnuts sit inside the rim.
Step 2: Front doughnuts
On the plate draw 2 big puffy round doughnuts side by side, just touching.
Tip Sufganiyot are round jelly doughnuts eaten at Hanukkah.
Step 3: Doughnut behind
Between them, higher up, draw a third round doughnut peeking out from behind.
Step 4: Sugar tops
Across each doughnut draw a wavy line. Start on its left edge and stop on its right edge.
Tip Everything above the wavy line is powdered sugar.
Step 5: Jelly dollops
On top of each doughnut, inside the sugar, draw a small flat oval of jelly.
Step 6: A dreidel
Right of the plate draw a dreidel: a square with a pointed bottom, its point level with the plate's bottom.
Step 7: Dreidel sides
Add a thin slanted top and a thin side to make it a block. Stand a short handle on top.
Step 8: The table
Draw a table line from edge to edge, touching the bottom of the plate and the dreidel's point.
Step 9: Golden doughnuts
Go over your lines. Colour the 3 doughnuts golden brown below the wavy lines. Leave the sugar tops white.
Step 10: Red jelly
Colour the 3 jelly dollops red.
Step 11: Light blue plate
Colour the plate light blue around the doughnuts, and the dreidel's thin top and side too.
Step 12: Blue dreidel
Colour the dreidel's front blue and its handle yellow. Your sufganiyot are done!
