How to Draw a Handheld Game
Draw a handheld game in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
In the middle, draw a wide rounded box, about twice as wide as it is tall.
Step 2: The screen
In the middle of the body, draw a smaller box with rounded corners for the screen.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the screen, draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Add big black dots with shines.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes, draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek under each eye.
Step 5: The d-pad
On the left of the screen, draw a plus sign made of 2 fat bars crossing. That is for moving.
Step 6: Two buttons
On the right of the screen, draw 2 round buttons, one up and left, one down and right.
Step 7: Little buttons
Under the screen, draw 2 tiny flat pills side by side.
Step 8: The speaker
Under the round buttons, draw 3 short slanted lines side by side for the speaker.
Step 9: Sparkles
Add 3 little sparkles in the air above the game.
Step 10: The table
Draw a straight table line under the game, a little past each side.
Step 11: Grey d-pad, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the d-pad and pills grey, and the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Sky screen, red buttons
Colour the screen sky blue around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white. Colour the 2 round buttons red.
Step 13: Slate body
Colour the body slate blue, around the screen, d-pad and buttons. Your game is ready to play!

Your finished drawing
