How to Draw a Basketball Player
Draw a basketball player in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.
Step 1: Egg head
Near the top of your paper, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: Face
Draw 2 oval eyes with a dot and a shine in each. Add a small nose and a smile.
Step 3: Ears
On each side of the head, draw a C ear, starting and stopping on the head.
Step 4: Short hair
Start on the left of the head. Draw hair tufts over the top, ending on the right. Add a hairline.
Step 5: Sweatband
Under the hair, start on the left of the head and draw 2 curves across the forehead to the right.
Step 6: Neck and jersey
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one, draw a short-sleeved jersey, ending at the right. Add a number 1.
Step 7: Arms
From each sleeve, draw 2 lines down to the wrist, bending out at the elbow and getting thinner.
Step 8: Mitten hands
Start at each wrist, draw a mitten with a little thumb pointing in, and stop at the other side.
Step 9: Basketball
Draw a ball under the right hand, starting and stopping at its fingers. Add a line and a curve.
Step 10: Long shorts
From the bottom left of the jersey, draw long shorts down, up between the legs, back to the right corner.
Step 11: Legs, sneakers, ground
From each shorts leg, draw a leg that narrows and stops at a sneaker with a sole. Add the ground.
Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, neck, ears, arms, hands and legs peach, and the cheeks pink.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Purple kit, orange ball
Colour the jersey, shorts and sweatband purple, and the ball orange around the hand.
Step 14: Black hair, white sneakers
Colour the hair black around the sweatband. Leave the sneakers white. Go over your lines.
