How to Draw a Hammock Chair

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a hammock chair in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg pod.

Print

  1. Step 1: Egg pod

Just left of the middle, draw a tall egg, narrow at the top, about as tall as your hand.

  2. Step 2: The opening

In the lower part of the egg draw a big round opening. Leave a thick rim at the top.

  3. Step 3: Seat cushion

Start on the left edge of the opening. Draw a low round hump across to the right edge.

  4. Step 4: Back pillow

Start on the cushion. Draw a tall pillow with round corners up, across and down to the cushion.

  5. Step 5: Rope and ring

From the top of the egg draw a short rope straight up to a small ring.

  6. Step 6: Base and ground

Under the egg draw a flat oval base, then a long ground line under it.

  7. Step 7: The stand

Start at the ring. Draw a thick pole over to the right, down the side, and in to the base.

  8. Step 8: Weave marks

On the top of the pod draw 3 lines each way, crossing like a basket, each from edge to edge.

  9. Step 9: Cream pillow, tan pod

Go over your lines. Colour the pillow cream and the rim of the pod tan.

  10. Step 10: Grey stand

Colour the pole, the ring and the base grey.

  11. Step 11: Teal cushion, brown inside

Colour the cushion teal and the inside brown, around the pillow and cushion. Your hammock chair is done!
