How to Draw a Rosette
Draw a rosette in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big circle.
Step 1: Big circle
In the top half of your paper draw one big round circle.
Tip Leave room underneath for the two ribbon tails.
Step 2: Bumpy edge
Draw 12 round hill bumps all the way round the outside of the circle.
Tip Make the bumps the same size, like the petals of a flower.
Step 3: Left tail
Start under the bumps. Draw a wide ribbon hanging down to the left. Cut a V in its end.
Step 4: Right tail
Draw a matching ribbon hanging down to the right, with the same V cut in its end.
Tip The two tails lean apart like an upside-down V.
Step 5: The button
In the middle of the big circle draw a smaller circle, about half as wide.
Step 6: The star
Inside the small circle draw a star with 5 points.
Tip One point of the star points straight up.
Step 7: Four pleats
Draw 4 short lines from the button out to the big circle: top, bottom, left and right.
Step 8: More pleats
Draw 2 more short lines in each gap, so 12 lines point at the dips between the bumps.
Tip The lines sit like the numbers on a clock.
Step 9: Yellow ring
Colour the ring with the lines yellow. Colour the star yellow too.
Step 10: Red button
Colour the button red, going carefully around the star.
Tip Red and yellow next to each other make the star stand out.
Step 11: Blue ribbon
Colour the bumpy edge and both ribbon tails blue. Then go over all your lines.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a rosette, drawn by you.
