How to Draw a Canadian Flag
Draw a Canadian flag in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pole and ground.
Step 1: Pole and ground
Draw a tall thin pole on the left, a ball on top, and a ground line from edge to edge.
Step 2: The waving flag
Start on the pole below the ball. Draw a wavy top edge, a straight right side, a wavy bottom edge.
Step 3: Two band lines
Draw 2 straight lines down the flag from the top edge to the bottom edge, splitting it into 3 bands.
Step 4: Maple leaf, right half
In the middle band start near the top. Zigzag down the right side with sharp teeth, stopping at the bottom.
Tip Keep the leaf inside the white middle band.
Step 5: Left half and stem
From the bottom, zigzag up the left side the same way, back to the top. Add a short stem below.
Step 6: Wind lines
Off the right edge of the flag draw 3 short wind lines.
Step 7: Yellow ball
Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow.
Step 8: Grey pole
Colour the pole grey.
Step 9: Red bands
Colour the left band and the right band red, leaving the middle band white.
Step 10: Red maple leaf
Colour the maple leaf red. Go over your lines and your flag is waving!
