How to Draw Hairstyles
Draw hairstyles in 12 steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: 2 heads.
Step 1: 2 heads
In the top half of your paper draw 2 eggs for heads, side by side with a gap between them.
Tip Keep the heads small: 4 of them share the page.
Step 2: 2 more heads
In the bottom half draw 2 more eggs the same size, one under each of the first 2.
Step 3: 2 faces
On each top head draw 2 round eyes with black dots, and a smile. Leave the top empty for hair.
Step 4: 2 more faces
Give the 2 bottom heads the same face: 2 round eyes with black dots, and a smile below.
Step 5: Short tufty hair
On the top left head, start level with the eyes. Draw tufts over the top, stopping level with the eyes.
Tip Then join the two ends with a curve across the forehead.
Step 6: Fringe
On the top right head, start beside the left eye. Go over the top, down, and back across the forehead.
Step 7: Long hair
Start on the fringe at each side. Draw hair down past the chin and back up to the jaw.
Step 8: Pigtails
On the bottom left head draw the same fringe. Add a pigtail hanging from each side, tied with a band.
Step 9: Bun
On the bottom right head draw the fringe again. On top draw a big round bun.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour all 4 faces peach with pink cheeks, and leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Yellow and orange
Colour the long hair yellow, and the bun hair and the pigtail ties orange.
Step 12: Brown and black hair
Colour the tufty hair brown and the pigtails black, around the orange ties. Go over your lines.
