How to Draw Gyoza
Draw gyoza in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
A little below the middle of your paper draw a big flat oval plate. Add a smaller oval inside it.
Step 2: The front gyoza
On the front of the plate draw a long flat half-moon, hand wide, with 5 bumps on top.
Step 3: Its pleats
From each notch between the bumps draw a tiny curved tick, just a little way down into the gyoza.
Step 4: A second gyoza
Behind it, up to the right, draw another flat half-moon. Only its top shows above the front one.
Tip Rub out the plate lines inside it.
Step 5: A third behind
Up to the left draw a third gyoza, tucked behind the other two. Only draw what you can see.
Tip Rub out the plate lines inside it.
Step 6: More pleats
Draw a tiny tick from each notch on the 2 back gyoza, where you can see them.
Step 7: A dip cup
On the right draw a flat oval with a small one inside. Under it, draw a U from end to end.
Tip Rub out the plate line inside the cup.
Step 8: Steam
Draw 2 wiggly steam lines rising above the pile.
Step 9: The table
Draw a straight line under the plate, as wide as the plate, just touching its bottom.
Step 10: Cream gyoza
Go over your lines, then colour all 3 gyoza cream.
Step 11: Sky plate, brown sauce
Colour the plate sky blue around the gyoza, and the sauce brown. Leave the cup white. Your gyoza are done!
