How to Draw Gnocchi
Draw gnocchi in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
A little below the middle draw a wide flat oval for the top of the bowl, about a hand wide.
Step 2: The bowl
Start at the left end of the oval. Draw a big U down and round, up to the right end.
Step 3: The foot
Under the bowl draw a short stand: start on the bottom left, go down, across, and up to the right.
Step 4: The sauce
Inside the rim draw a second flat oval, a finger inside it, for the sauce.
Step 5: Three gnocchi
On the sauce draw 3 little fat ovals side by side, tilted this way and that.
Tip Each one is like a tiny pillow.
Step 6: Two more in front
In front of them draw 2 more fat ovals. Rub out the back lines inside them.
Step 7: Fork marks
On each gnocchi draw 2 short lines across the middle, not reaching the edges.
Step 8: Sage leaves
Draw 2 long pointed leaves peeking out from under the gnocchi, each with a line down the middle.
Step 9: A stripe and steam
Draw a bowed stripe round the bowl under the rim, from side to side. Add 2 wavy steam lines above.
Step 10: The table
Draw a line under the foot from left to right, just touching its bottom.
Step 11: Cream gnocchi
Go over your lines, then colour all 5 gnocchi cream.
Step 12: Red sauce, green sage
Colour the sauce red, going around the gnocchi, and the sage leaves green.
Step 13: Blue stripe, white bowl
Colour the band between the stripe and the rim blue. Leave the rest of the bowl white.
